Is Spike A Boy???

i always forget that we’re syndicated and that people i know in other cities can hear me – yesterday morning, my cousin Brianna (who lives in Baton Rouge) called my mom and said “i just heard dianthe on the radio – i know it was her because she’s the ONLY dianthe in the world!” hee-hee! that made me laugh – first of all, by the time my mom called to tell me – i’d forgotten that i had been on air – and second, i forget that we’re on in other cities!

guess what tonight is – Mavs Fan Jam – WOO HOO!!! oh, the things i do for my husband – we’re missing the screening for American Gangster (the new Denzel movie) AND Grey’s Anatomy – usually Fan Jam is on the weekend but for some reason it’s in the middle of the week this year – the only upside i see so far is that i won’t have to cook dinner – not that i’ve been doing a stellar job of that lately though – i’m just so freaking tired – why can’t my husband just be happy with a bowl of cereal like me? plus, since i can’t eat anything after 7pm, the last thing i feel like doing is cooking – i made meatloaf last night (blech) but i didn’t think to make “sides” – Kelley had to make a quick run to Chick-Fil-A for a side of waffle fries – whateve, dude!

i am now convinced that Spike is a boy – last night i had my very first gender dream – it was very strange (which i guess is to be expected with a dream) – but i dreamt that my belly expanded like a balloon and i could actually see through my belly (like a balloon) and i could hold the baby in my hands – i pulled Spike out to show someone and i looked down and i could see Spike’s little pee-pee just sticking out for the world to see! then, while someone else was holding Spike, he got all tangled up in my balloon belly – actually Spike was in one part of the balloon and then the part between him and the rest of the belly got all twisted up so he wasn’t getting any air or oxygen or amniotic fluid (i guess) – so we had to race to untwist him and then he was all better – then we placed him back in my belly and everything was good again! so strange! anyway, from here on out, Spike will be referred to as “he” – that is until i have a dream that Spike is a girl or i get some other “feeling” that he’s a she!

  1. Hey Dianthe!

I just wanted to stop by and say how much you rock. I have always loved reading your blogs and even more so since you’re pregnant! You know how obsessive you can get with reading other people’s pregnancy stories.

I am “one of those” mamas that had a natural birth and cloth diapers. I was so excited when I saw you mention it in your blog. You are right – they are way cute and very addictive. So you may not exactly be saving money in the long run. LOL My personal favorites are http://www.tailfeathersdiapers.com/ I’ve got tons of links if you are interested. :)

I know how you love birth stories, so I wanted to tell you a little bit about mine. My daughter, Willow, was born in May. I didn’t believe that I was really in labor (I thought I had a stomach ache) and when my hubby & mom finally convinced me to go to the birthing center to be checked I was 9 1/2 cm! We were all laughing we couldn’t believe it. She was almost born at home! Anyway, if you want to read the whole thing or talk more about natural birth & parenting you can look me up on myspace.com/amandacj08

    Congrats again!
